Besides the Pegasos board from bplan, the company "SBS Technologies" has also developed a PowerPC board with ATX form factor. The "Adirondack" is based on a PowerPC 750CXe, the latest and fastest processor development from IBM. The CPU can be clocked at up to 700 MHz and has 256 KBytes of on-chip cache. The processor bus is clocked at 133 MHz. The included IBM CPC710 Dual Bridge offers two PCI buses, one of which is 64-bit wide and can be clocked at up to 66 MHz. In terms of main memory, the board can carry up to 1 GBytes of RAM. USB ports are included, plus an ATA-100 bus system for hard disks. The integration of the SCSI-3 standard on the board is also interesting. An Ethernet interface is also standard. In addition, there are serial and parallel interfaces. Further information can be found on the IBM homepage. (tr)
