New STemBoy version (26.06.2001 - 00:00 Uhr)

Based on the released version 3.2 of STemBoy, there is now an update to version 3.25 by Mia Jaap. The changes:

• long file names
• new info dialogue (replaces the alert boxes)
• 3D look with keyboard operation
• no more colour switching in colour modes
• <Return> as alternative to R-Shift (did not work under MPC)

The source code for version 3.25 will be released in the next few days, further updates are planned.

Atari games for cell phones (26.06.2001 - 00:00 Uhr)

Classic games like Pong evoke nostalgic memories in many mobile phone owners. The British company iFone, which according to ZDNet has signed an exclusive contract with Atari owner Infogrames and wants to offer six Atari games for mobile phones by September, is probably also speculating on this. The prerequisite for the enjoyment of the games, however, is a Java-capable mobile phone - more precisely: one with the Java2 MicroEdition (J2ME). In addition, the games will apparently utilize the mobile phone to such an extent that you will have to delete them after finishing the game in order to use the device normally again.

The popular applications by John McLoud are now available as freeware. These are the snapshot tool "JML-Snapshot", the MagiC operating system extension "Stewart" and the boot manager "McBoot". The free keys are available on the author's homepage.

Only a few users are familiar with Nährwert, a food database that contains 12 values for each food. To analyse a nutrition protocol or a recipe, only the individual foods need to be selected and quantified. Nährwert then calculates the calorie count and other important data.
Nährwert is a modern GEM application incl. window dialogues, ST-Guide and BubbleGEM help function, freely selectable character set in the windows, etc.

New PDF reader for Atari (26.06.2001 - 00:00 Uhr)

As invers Software confirmed to us, a new PDF reader for Atari systems is currently in the works. The software will be much more comfortable and, above all, faster than the previous PDF reader GEMGS and will be distributed directly by invers Software or Application Systems Heidelberg.
