Wie auf der Webseite des Projekts bekannt gegeben wurde, wurde der Entschluss gefasst, die Déesse-Karte von Frontier Systems standardmäßig in das System zu integrieren. Die Déesse verwendet den DSP56301, der Rechenleistungen von bis zu 100 MIPS bei 100 MHz ermöglicht. Damit können Atari-Anwendern wieder auf eine Maschine hoffen, die im Bereich der Audiobearbeitung zu Höchstleistungen fähig ist. In the meantime, version 4.08 from 20 October 2001 is available. Sondigit works on every Classic Atari as well as on Medusa, Hades and Milan. MagiCMac is also supported with the separately available sound driver (see below). The following sound formats are offered:
Sondigit is available as freeware for free download. The program itself is available in French and English, the documentation only in French. (tr) (tr) MagiCMac Sound Driver (01.11.2001 - 12:10 Uhr)The MagiCMac Sound Driver is a sound driver for MagiCMac that is compatible with the XBIOS of the Atari Falcon. The driver provides functions for playing and recording 16-bit stereo samples. The audio source can be set with the help of a CPX module. (01.11.2001 - 11:10 Uhr)Thomas Raukamp, editor-in-chief of st-computer, had a half-hour phone conversation today with Dr. Ryan Czerwinsky, CEO of Merlancia Industries. It was confirmed that Merlancia was still planning to implement an Atari-compatible system based on bplan's G4 board (to be demonstrated at Amiga 2001). Dr. Czerwinsky is also considering visiting the Amiga fair and the Atari Park in Cologne, if this would be possible for him in terms of time, in order to get an idea of the potential of the European Atari community and to answer questions from interested fans. (ms) 68k instructions not supported by Athlon (01.11.2001 - 11:10 Uhr)As Transitive Technologies informed us on request, the translation software "Dynamite P/X" supports PowerPC code, but a translation of 68k code is explicitly not possible. This is only planned within the next 12 months. The company thus contradicts the rumour that the technology is suitable for use in an Atari clone, for example. Jeremy Clark's "Atarimania" is an extraordinary mixture of people and machines and consists of no less than 33 Atari computers that direct, conduct and control a wide variety of musical events. Primarily, the update concerns localisation into the English language. In addition, a light version of the program is planned for distribution on floppy disk.
